What is Slow Sales Response (SSR)?
Slow Sales Response or SSR for short, is different from customer relationship management (CRM) or standard forms of marketing, such as email marketing or display ads. SSR is a real-time solution that anticipates, detects and automatically responds to poor external sales conditions.
The ideal example is a local restuarant at 1pm on a Wednesday in the middle of winter and rain or flurries are predicted. An SSR solution would be monitoring all of these factors and be aware of how they will impact the restaurant's sales.
Assuming that these factors would negatively affect sales, the SSR solution would respond to counteract them by, for example, deliver targeted coupon advertising to local customers. This would work to increase sales at the restaurant at a day and time when it would normally suffer. In this example one may liken SSR to dynamic pricing though it is important to understand that SSR may not be limited just to coupons.
